Alice's Baptism

We are very happy to share with our families and friends the celebration of
Alice's Baptism
The ceremony will take place next
31st May 2014 at 16.00
in our Parish, the Church of the Holy Trinity
Kościół Świętej Trójcy
in Ulica Solec 61. Warsaw
We moved to Warsaw at the beginning of the spring in 2013. Since then, we embrace this vibrant city and enjoy that proximity allow us to meet very often with friends and family: we were also lucky to meet some new good friends too.
Warsaw is a charming place, but we particularly cherish day by day our neighborhood: our home where our little girls are blossoming,  the parks were we love to stroll, the playgrounds and fountains  where Ali and Bea express all their energies , our Parish were we always feel comforted by the genuine warmth  and spiritual guidance of Padre Adam and Padre Miroslaw.
For these reasons we felt to choose Warsaw as the place for Alice's Baptism: a dear city to us that will be bond with a unique moment in her life: the Baptism through which she will enter officially the Community of the Catholic Church.
We would really appreciate if you could take the time to write a note for Alice, even in the case you would not be able to attend the Baptism, as one day reading these letters she will be able to imagine the community of family and friends she was sorrounded by when she was small.
The Church of the Holy Trinity
The first Church on this site is dated from 1339, it was located where today is the statue of Santa Barbara.
In 1668 the Trinitarians were awarded this parcel of land  close to the Vistula river and started the construction of a convent and of a new Church, completed in 1726 on the model of a convent of Trinitarians in Madrid
Both the Church and its attached monastry, that today hosts  the Archdioces museum. were heavily destroyed during the Warsaw Uprising both by nazi bombs and russian artillary from the other bank of the Vistola: the sacred wooden figure of Jesus of Nazareth, brought from Madrid by the Trinitarians, emerged unscattered from the ruins.
Still nowadays the Parish hosts the  Spanish catholic community of the city. A spanish Mass is celebrated every sunday in the backyard Chapel: we discovered it the last 8th December when we were warmly greeted by Padre Adam dressed as Saint Nicholas, blessing the kids and handing them bags of tangerines and chocolates  :-)
                              Map location of the Church
Parking is available in the square in front of the Church, the nearest Bus stops are Solec 01,02 and 03: Lines 127,118, 166. you can check timetables and routes here

The Reception
Following  the ceremony,  we will celebrate our gathering in the restaurant of the Warsaw Center for Sports and Recreation of Solec 71

A playground in the enclosed park of the Center will be awaiting all the kids to play and run around: our babysitter Olga will be watching over them through the evening.
Moreover, before the daylight will get off, both kids and adults  will have a shot at a very high skills competition: there will be only one winner  but nobody will go home without a ballon!
